About the Author

D. Van Lee is a survivor and a former law enforcement professional who spent years operating within the high-stakes world of the state correctional system. Born into a turbulent upbringing marked by instability, his early years were defined by the open highway—a lone hitchhiker carrying

little more than a duffel bag and a developing faith across

thousands of miles of American road.

After surviving the unpredictable dangers of the road, he transitioned into a grueling career as a state prison Corrections Officer, learning street-smarts from the inside out while managing volatile, high-custody cell blocks. Through it all, a steady thread of faith kept him anchored.

Today, he lives quietly on the rural borders of Michigan's Upper Peninsula wilderness, dedicating his time to reflection, photography, and sharing

the remarkable moments of divine intervention that guided him

through the darkest corners of his life.

Through his writing, his travel blog (ExploreWithDon.com), and his fine art photography (Inner Light Images), he seeks to capture the quiet, extraordinary beauty of creation.

His ultimate hope is to offer a beacon of reassurance to others, proving through a six-decade legacy of personal testimony that we are

never truly walking alone—and that heaven is always listening.
